The difference between humans and animals is that when pigs are fat you eat them.

The adults can eat as much candy as they want to, stay up for as long as they want to and put on as much makeup as they want to. The terrible thing is that they don't want to.

From the mouths of children.
A mother is telling her daughter about polar bears and how they live in the Arctic area where is ice and snow all year round.
"Do you know what the polar bear's children are called?" she asked her daughter.
The daughter thinks for a while and then she replies with a triumphant smile, "Ice cubes!"

Strange how a terrible day can also be such a beautiful day.
I was sitting in the ambulance watching the landscape fly by and I was taken by the intense beauty of the world as we sped on. Picture perfect winter fields, groves with trees with frosted branches shimmering in the sun and I realized that it was the first time since mid November that I've seen the sun. Strange how a terrible day can also be such a beautiful day.

Alice Kingsley: This is impossible. The Mad Hatter: Only if you believe it is.
I wonder how many great deeds goes undone because people don't believe in their own ability to do them. People keep telling themselves that they can't do it and after a while the idea becomes the truth. Imagine what the world would be like if they told themselves that they can do it and then after a while that idea became the truth.

I guess that I expect too much...
The holidays has been upon us and that means on thing for certain, there is nothing worth watching on TV. No matter what channel I switch to there is only junk to watch, junk and reruns. We rented a stack of DVDs to have something to watch and... it's all junk.
I worked at a movie theatre when I was young and I watched at least two movies a week and when I sopped working there I still watched a lot of movies that we rented and watched at home. I can't remember that I ever thought that a large part of it was junk. It was fun and entertaining or dull and I didn't get the point but still well made, well, most of it was anyways.
I'm guessing that I had lower expectations back then but it still feels sad that the "movie magic" and entertainment has turned into utter frustration and not much more than that.
Is this what it is like to grow old?

What if ... ?
What would the world be like if sugar was made illegal because it was considered to be a drug since it endangers people's health?
Crime syndicates smuggling and distributing sugar, bootlegged syrup, people keeping hidden beehives to get honey and people slipping into the shade to get a sugar fix. Millions upon millions of addicts craving the drug that used to be legal and all around them. People lobbying to make sugar legal again and scientists telling the world about the health benefits that comes with sugar. Internet forums and homepages dedicated to educating the world about how harmless sugar is and providing facts about how sugar is not addictive at all. 12 step programs for sugar addicts, sugar detox clinics and quacks promising miracles as long as people keep on paying big money to get it.
