Dark Portal is different from the usual Dungeon Master games since it's based on solving puzzles. (In Shadow gate style.) You need to solve some of the puzzles in the right order to be able to move on. The monsters you encounter can't be killed if you haven't solved the puzzle connected to them.
The worst part for me was figuring the "
Desire - raised" puzzle. I spent a lot of time on it and even asked my husband for help. After hours of frustration I finally admitted defeat and went to the
thread with hints to be able to move on.
